Pepperidge Farm Makes a Great Classroom Treat for Valentine’s Day

It’s almost Valentine’s Day which means parents everywhere are scrambling to find the perfect Valentine’s for their kids to hand out at school. I truly miss those days, coming home with a bag full of sweet nothings from my 6-year-old peers. Those were the days, *sigh*. Now as parents we have control over what our kids hand out and this year why not make it extra special with Pepperidge Farm? They sent us some goodies for editorial inspiration and it worked! Valentine’s Day is going to be awesome this year.

Pepperidge Farm Valentine's Day

Pepperidge Farm has several individually packed snacks that make for perfect V-Day card accompaniments. Goldfish, Milano Cookies, and Mini Chessmen are a few. It’s a little hard for me to part ways with these goodies because they are just so good. You can be sure that anyone receiving them will be thrilled. A good rule of thumb is to have several options so kids can trade if need be.

On the Go Mini Chessmen Butter Cookies: The long time favorite, available in easy to share individual packs, is a great alternative for the little ones and teachers who would love a delicious, chocolate-free treat.

If you’re scrambling for the ideal V-Day classroom cards/gifts this is it! You can find Pepperidge Farm products at most grocery stores. To make it even easier on you I’ve created this fee Valentine’s Day Card Printable that fits perfectly over the top of the Pepperidge Farm bags. I think they’re super cute, what about you? The sheet prints four cards, each one can be folded to hug the bag. There is a spot on the back for the To:/From: fields as well. Enjoy!

Get Your Cupid On with SinfulColors

I’m so excited… I just can’t hide it!!! SinfulColors (who sent us some polishes for editorial consideration) has their V-Day line out and it is filled with awesomeness. They have 8 polishes just waiting for you to channel your inner cupid.

I had the opportunity to play with a few of them and I want to show you how my playdate with SinfulColors came out. First up there is the Love Sprinkles. It’s basically a topcoat with a blend of small and medium-sized round confetti and hearts.

I had a time getting the hearts to come out, but I do like how they don’t all clump up. I think one heart per finger is satisfactory.

Next it’s Rise and Shine. A gorgeous teal color that deviates from the traditional red and pinks of Valentine’s Day. I think that is what makes me love it so much!

SinfulColors Rise and Shine

Daredevil is a medium pink shade with a slight purple hue that causes it to look metallic. I love the contrast and the cupid-esque look of this color.

Finally we have Dream On which is a vibrant magenta-ish color with a purple hue. This is my favorite color of the four I received and it seems to go on thicker than the others.

SinfulColors Dream on

SinfulColors is available nationwide at Walgreens, Rite Aid & Other Mass Retailers. Colors retail for $1.99 which make them a steal and a lot cheaper than getting them professionally done. The colors last a decent amount of time with a top coat on.

I can’t wait to see what SinfulColors has in store for St. Patty’s Day and Easter!! I absolutely adore them and hope you have as much fun mixing and matching their polishes as I do. You can connect with SinfulColors on social media to get even more holiday inspiration.

2015 Valentines Day Gift Guide

February 14th. Valentine’s Day. It is the day to create and celebrate romance and show the people you love how much you care. This year if you are stuck for gift ideas we are here to help. We’ve put together a Valentine’s day Gift Guide with several great gift ideas for him and her. We received several items for editorial consideration, and these are our favorites.

Thirsty Thursday: Valentine’s Day Cocktails

Thirsty Thursday: Valentine’s Day Cocktails

With the most romantic day of the year (for most people at least) closing in it seems fitting to make the next couple Thirsty Thursday’s dedicated to swoon worthy cocktails. I thought I’d kick it off by giving you a few cocktail recipes I’ve found across the web. This week we were working with Jeremiah Weed Cinnamon whiskey – check out our recipe below. Before we go there though, here are 14 Valentine’s Day Cocktails for you to try with your lovah.

14 Valentine's Day Cocktails

  • For the non-alcohol drinking bunch this Raspberry Limeade Mocktail from The Socialite’s Closet is a perfect drink to start hearts fluttering.
  • If a box of chocolates just isn’t your style, surprise your Valentine with this luxurious Mississippi Mudtini Cocktail from Snappy Gourmet. Yum!

and some more…

Now it’s time for our own special V-Day drink that we like to call “Hearts on Fire”. It sounds a little scary, but tempting, right? Such a bold name, the drink just has to live up to it and it does. The burn is there but it’s a smooth burn, if that makes sense. The best part is it is a flaming shot!

Flaming Hearts Shot with Jeremiah Weed Whiskey

There is a super popular cinnamon flavored whiskey out that I’m sure you’ve heard about, tasted, worshiped. What would you say if I said I found the mature version of that? A version with a smoother finish and less burn. That’s exactly what everyone has described Jeremiah Weed Cinnamon Whiskey as. A grown-up version of {that other cinnamon whiskey}.

To make this Hearts on Fire shot use the recipe below. Be sure to let me know what you think and remember to drink responsibly!

Check your local ABC store for Jeremiah Weed (if they don’t have it, request it!). They are sold at a suggested retail price of $18.99 for a 750 mL bottle.

12 DIY Valentine’s Day Gifts

Shopping for a significant other can be tough – especially when it comes to Valentine’s Day. Sometimes it is easier (and more appreciated) to create something instead of trying to buy the perfect gift. After all, it’s the thought that counts… right?

I pooled my friends about what their preferred gift for Valentine’s Day would be and the majority said they would prefer something handmade. I think this answer sums it up nicely:

Hand made! There’s more sentiment behind it they went out of their way to make you something using everything they know about you.

Of course there is no rule or law saying you have to make a gift, you can more than happily purchase a Valentine’s Day gift. In fact we have some great ideas for those gifts in our Valentine’s Day gift guide! For those of you that would like to create something but need some inspiration I have gathered these 12 DIY Valentine’s Day gifts basically anyone can make.

 12 DIY Valentine’s Day Gifts

I’m a sucker for frames to show off my favorite memories and a lot of women (and some men) are the same way. This DIY Chalkboard Frame from Crafts by Courtney is so sweet, especially with a personal message stenciled on.

Simply Stacie has a fun way to show your favorite picture off with a DIY Valentine’s Day frame.

Crazy About My Baybah created something no woman can turn down – heart shaped bath bombs. They seem easy enough to make and sound like a great gift for one, or maybe two if you’re lucky.

Maybe it’s just me but I find snow globes extremely romantic. This sweet Valentine’s Day snow globe from Whipper Berry is perfect.

Back to the bathroom goodies, Sugar and Cloth has a recipe for a DIY Love Potion Bath Set. Another great DIY gift for 2?!

A Bubbly Life has a DIY gift even the manliest man can make – Wooden Coasters!

If you want to pick up flowers you can throw a personal touch in with this DIY Sweetheart Vase from The Pretty Bee

StudioDIY suggests filling this heart shaped pinata with candy. I say take it a step further if you must buy a gift (especially jewelry) and add a little extra surprise inside.

Pillows are another gift I could never turn away. These upcycled (from old sweaters) pillows made by Organized 31 are so creative and a great way to keep the favorite sweaters around a little while longer.

One thing that is even harder to resist than bath goodies or pillows is money. What better way to give the gift of cash than with origami? Check out these Dollar Hearts Muslin and Merlot.

If (s)he’s a pro in the kitchen, or even just has a few favorite recipes, framing them is a great way to show you care. These easy Framed Recipe Cards from Home Cooking Memories would make an excellent gift.

You can really go all out and make several or all of these gifts and create a gift basket. You’ll get brownie points for years to come.
