I love fancy shoes as much as the next fashionista, but they aren’t always practical. Like, when I’m running to the store or in a hurry I want a shoe that I can just slip into and go. It helps when they look good, like the Icebug Mist (sent for review purposes). This shoe is stylish (I love the color scheme and the cute little pixellated bug graphic) and intensely comfortable.
The Icebug Mist-L RB9X is a great solution to my athletic footwear needs. Whether I’m walking, jogging, or full on running my feet don’t bear the brunt of the impact. Is there anything worse than sore feet at the end of the day – with no one to rub them for you?!
It has done a lot of raining here in the suburbs of Chicago which means slippery walking surfaces. This was the perfect chance to confront and challenge the traction on the Icebug Mist shoe.
Well, it wasn’t much of a challenge. I didn’t slip or feel myself slipping once; even when I tried to use the grass as a slip and slide. The soles of these shoes really grip to help you stay balanced and on your feet.
I also want to mention that my feet actually stayed dry while I was performing my tests which surprised me. I thought for sure I would be left with wet socks.
Everything about these shoes screams “Buy me in more colors” and “wear me everywhere”. They are girly, but not too girly which is perfect for when you want to be noticed but not stereotyped. I can highly recommend them for hiking, working out, and running errands. I wear mine quite often and haven’t had a tired foot yet which is a nice change.
Icebug has several styles of footwear to choose from. Each pair is made with quality in mind and made to withstand the environment you wear them in. Be sure to check them out and connect with Icebug on their social media channels.
If you’ve ever watched The Doctors then you probably already know who Dr. Lisa Masterson is. In case you don’t check her out on Twitter. She co-created the brand Therafit whose shoes I’m going to talk about (they sent them for the review but that does not influence my opinion.) Therafit is dedicated to making comfortable shoes for fashion forward men and women. That means their shoes are not only comfortable but stylish as well. The shoes are made to be comfortable all day long and to reduce aches and pains from day to day life.
I opted for the Kate Women’s Walking Shoe from Therafit for this review. They were cute and designed for a well rounded group of activities: running, walking, and sports. The design wasn’t too loud and there was just the right amount of color to keep them appropriate for most occasions.
When I first put on the shoes I thought they seemed a little shallow. My foot almost felt like it would slip out when I walked. I easily fixed this by taking out the removable insole that offers lift and support.
Kate relieves stress on your lower body with the goal to improve posture, increase support and reduce pain.
With the insole out the shoe was still comfortable and I was finally happy with the fit. That fear that my foot would slip out went away and I took them for a spin. For me the ultimate test is stairs. If I don’t break my neck we are off to a good start. Needless to say my neck is not broken, and my journey to the bottom of the stairs was a safe one. The Kate shoes stayed put which proves their sizing is spot on.
I spend a lot of time barefoot so for me to actually wear shoes they have to be comfortable. I love that I can notice a difference in my shoes and out. The arch support is great and I give that credit for the reduced lower back pain. They are definitely a keeper 🙂 I also really love that the shoes are so versatile. They will work with so many outfits, casual and fitness inspired.
You can find Therafit shoes here and I highly recommend you do. Whether you have a job that requires a lot of walking, standing or you lead an active lifestyle they are awesome.
