Ever have worries about what you are eating? I know I do. Nowadays there are so many things that are going into our food that we don’t even know about. Almost everything that we eat has been tampered with in some way before it gets to the grocery stores. It doesn’t always have to be like that though. I have been wanting to start eating healthier but I like what I like. It is a common belief that healthy means that it won’t taste good, and we can’t have that.
I decided to start small, something like changing my sugar intake. I drink A LOT of coffee, and I like it really sweet. Nutiva sent us a couple products (for editorial consideration) and one of them was their Coconut Sugar. Completely unrefined coconut sugar made from fresh coconut tree sap taken from flower buds.
Slightly sweet and a lovely hint of…what is this caramel? It adds that little something special to my coffee and what is better is that it is good for me, with a much lower amount of glucose going into the body. It is great for someone who uses too much sugar like me, or even for someone that has a blood sugar problem. You can use it in place of sugar for absolutely anything.
I also decided to decrease the amount of fried foods that I eat. I love frying things, so many things are awesome fried. We also received Nutiva Virgin Coconut Oil to go along with the Coconut sugar. Just like the sugar this too is good for you. It is made from cold-pressed unrefined coconut with a pinch of salt. It is perfect for frying, baking or even putting on your popcorn.
Neither of these two items have been altered in any way other than form, no GMO’s whatsoever, no high fructose corn syrup. Plus they are chocked full of vitamins and potassium. Its pure “Superfood”.
