Now that school is back in session so is the daunting task of getting the kids up, ready, and out the door on time. Is it as painful for you as it is for me?! To help make this school year easier on everyone I made a couple changes.
For the more difficult mornings (Mondays, post-birthdays/events, and general brat days) I picked up some breakfast help from Walmart. Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissant Sandwiches are ready to eat in 2 minutes which means more time to wrestle and wrangle the minions. It also means getting a little extra sleep for mom and/or dad!
Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissant Sandwiches are the requested breakfast here. They’re a deliciously satisfying, high quality breakfast solution that offers the right amount of protein to get the kids energized and fueled for school.
When Wela would get me ready for school in the mornings she would always stress how important breakfast was. I learned quickly not to argue with her – never argue with a Latina grandma! I wish all kids had that prerogative; mornings would definitely be smoother. This year I came up with some printables to help with before and after school. They work great for keeping everyone accountable.
After-school snacking is almost as important as breakfast before school. Especially when there’s homework to be done. While I was at Walmart for our breakfast solutions I also picked up protein packed snack solutions.
State Fair® offers a variety of delicious corn dogs featuring a signature honey-sweetened cornbread batter. Our favorite is the BEEF Corn Dogs so we picked up a 16 count box in the freezer section. I have yet to meet a kid that isn’t a corn dog fan. There’s just something about meat on a stick that is incredibly appealing for kids of all ages. Even those of us in our 30’s ;).
You can print the Morning Checklist and the After-School Checklist for free to help you make this school year a great one. I highly suggest laminating the printables so you can use them over and over.
What are you doing to make this school year easier for everyone? I’d love to hear your tips and tricks!
