Am I the only one who thinks every day should be a wine day? It doesn’t even have to be after a stressful day, or just to unwind. Just wine. I’m not a lush, except maybe once a month – but I do enjoy wine. Between Tess and I we have all the varietals covered. She digs red wines and I’m head over heels for white’s. Moscato and bubbly are a mutual favorite. So, imagine our glee when we opened up a box full of yellow tail wine.

All the bases were covered – Sangria (which is red wine based), Moscato, Bubbles, Big Bold Red. We were definitely in our happy place.

What do we think of these yellow tail wines?

yellow tail Sangria   Taking on the Spanish traditions, this Sangria is a lovely mix of red wine and citrus. The orange rind and red berry  notes dance on the palette while a mild hint of alcohol shimmies through. The sangria isn’t overly sweet which is a nice quality, since the red wine plays through but doesn’t overpower.

yellow tail Sangria Pairing Suggestion: While Sangria is perfect on its own, pairing with chicken and shellfish fresh off the grill is a fool proof pairing.

yellow tail Moscato –  At first taste this Moscato has an acidic bite only to be followed by hints of peach and tropical fruit. There is a light, airy mildly complex sweetness to this varietal. I really enjoyed the light fizz that accompanied the wine.

yellow tail Moscato Pairing Suggestion: Moscato is traditionally a dessert wine so pairing with a fruit infused cheesecake seems fitting. Also, consider serving this moscato with a glazed ham so sweet and salty play into each other.

yellow tail Bubbles
– Full bodied flavor paired with a fizzy texture make this a wonderful social varietal for any celebration. The bold flavors of tropical fruit with undertones of lime and hints of flora pair well with the creamy fizz. Bubbles has a soft sweetness and a crisp finish that is truly satisfying.

yellow tail Bubbles Pairing Suggestion: Bubbles would go perfectly with a fondue set up. Meats, cheeses, chocolates – great pairings!

yellow tail Big Bold Red – Aptly named, Big Bold Red is just that. A full bodied red wine with bold raspberry and strawberry flavors playing upon the notes of chocolate and espresso.

yellow tail Big Bold Red Pairing Suggestion: I’d suggest pairing Big Bold Red with a hearty dish like Beef Stew, Brisket or Spaghetti. They also go incredibly well with these Cheddar Bay knock off biscuits!
