Los Cabos, Mexico (February 18, 2015) – Located at the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula at the exact point where the Sea of Cortes meets the Pacific Ocean, Solmar Hotels & Resorts offers a “Hook & Cook” service for fishing enthusiasts and foodies alike.
Commonly referred to as “The Aquarium of the World,” the waters surrounding the Baja Peninsula are home to an abundant array of fish and marine life, providing the chefs of Solmar’s restaurants with an abundance of freshest seafood available. Now, guests can take this experience to the next level with Solmar’s “Hook & Cook” program, which puts the guest in charge of his or her own meal as the hotel collection’s team of chefs are able to prepare nearly any fish that a guest hooks themselves while out on the Sea of Cortes or Pacific Ocean.
Each of Solmar properties offers a slightly different variation of this service. For example, at Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort & Spa guests can have a catch prepared at a cost of $25 USD per person including tax (gratuity is not included) by simply completing a form, which can be obtained from the resort’s concierge. Guests can choose between having their fish prepared cold or hot in a variety of ways such as ceviche, carpaccio, sashimi, fried, grilled, blackened, pan seared of tacos with soup and salad.
At Playa Grande Resort & Spa the “Hook & Cook” offering is $15 USD per person and provides the option of breaded, grilled or blacked served with soup or salad and seasonal sautéed vegetables, rice and flour and corn tortillas. Guests of Solmar All-Inclusive Resort & Beach Club can also partake in this program for just $12 USD per person with the options of fish being prepared in different ways such as breaded, garlic butter, tempura or grilled and served with rice and vegetables.
In keeping with environmental conservation and the destinations ‘Catch and Release’ initiative Solmar Hotels & Resorts will not pack or prepare any Billfish.
Guests interested in booking a fishing excursion can do so through the resort’s on-site concierge or before arriving via the online concierge. For more information on Solmar Hotels & Resorts or to book a stay please visit www.solmar.com.
