This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Del Monte, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #makemangosalsa http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
Do I need to tell you again how much I love simple things? Simple recipes are the best, especially when you can spend two minutes and come out with something amazing. Like this simple mango salsa recipe. Del Monte has made it so easy to add diced mango to your favorite salsa you won’t need more than two minutes to throw it together. Just combine a can of drained Del Monte Diced Mangos (I picked mine up from Walmart) with your favorite chunky salsa and voila!
Did you know mangos have been named the most consumed fruit in the world?
There’s reason for that – mangos are nutritionally beneficial. One cup of diced mango has (via Mango Nutrition):
- 100 calories
- 1 gram protein
- 0.5 grams fat
- 25 grams of carbohydrate (23 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fiber)
- 100% of the daily need for vitamin C
- 35% for vitamin A
- 20% of folate
- 10% of vitamin B-6
- 8% of vitamin K and potassium.
There are even some amazing health benefits that come from eating mangos. Reduced risk of cancer, asthma prevention, improved bone health and digestion, and they are great for your skin and nails. That’s enough reason for me! Don’t miss the sampling event happening at select Walmarts from January 22 – 25.
This easy mango salsa recipe has been a hit with everyone I have fed it to. There was some pressuring with a few disbelievers but once they tried it there was no argument. That is why we’ll be having mango salsa front and center for our upcoming Superbowl party! I can’t wait to try some new mixtures – how do you think cheese salsa would pair with Del Monte Diced Mangos? I think it’s a path I’d like to travel!
Something else to consider for your Superbowl party is the kids that will be attending. They don’t generally fare well with hours of football and commercials. The Book of Life DVD will be released on January 27 – just in time to pick up for some halftime entertainment for the kids! I know I can’t wait to see it since I missed it in theaters.
