Growing up in the country had its downfalls, but there was always one upside that I loved: the food! It could’ve been the worst day ever but whatever was cooking on the stove made it alright. Over the years I have recreated many of my childhood favorite recipes. Then there are those times I’m feeling homesick and just start cooking; no clue what I’m making until it’s made. That’s when I do some of my best work!
Most of the time when I’m creating something new it’s because I haven’t been to the store in a while and I’m being resourceful. You know, working with what I’ve got. That’s how I wound up with this delicious and simple Steak Alfredo recipe.
Chances are you have most of the ingredients on hand, if not it’s very flexible so you can substitute meats, pastas, or make it vegetarian! I love adding different cheeses into the sauce for some bold flavors. Havarti and Gouda both melt wonderfully and enhance the flavor. I highly suggest playing around with it and swapping for different meats/veggies.
One word of warning, this is a heavy dish! It’s extremely filling and super easy to over indulge on. That’s why I have to keep Pepto-Bismol around – because when something tastes as good as this simple steak Alfredo I just can’t help myself! Pepto is that magical pink potion that gives me relief for pretty much anything that ails me.
I received this product for free from Smiley360 in exchange for my honest review.
C’mon, I know you know the words: Nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea! Hey, Pepto-Bismol!
