There’s nothing like waking up in the morning and enjoying the perfect omelette. I know a few people are intimidated or just don’t know how to make the perfect omelette. I promise it’s easy and well worth the effort. The secret is having a good, non-stick pan and butter. Butter is key!
To make the perfect Omelette you need:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 eggs
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1 or 2 slices of cheese, torn into pieces *optional*
- 1 or 2 slices of your favorite deli meat (or 1/4 cup leftover meat), diced *optional*
- Fresh veggies of your choice, diced *optional*
Melt butter over medium heat in a non-stick frying pan. While that is heating beat the eggs in a bowl and add salt and pepper. Once butter is melted and bubbling pour in the egg mixture.
After the eggs starts to cook, tilt and rotate the pan to get the runny eggs on the heated part of the pan.
When the egg mixture has a sturdy bottom add the cheese, meat and veggies if you’re using them. Cook for 2 minutes or until cheese starts to melt.
With a spatula, carefully fold one side over the other. Don’t worry if a little juice slips out, it’ll cook with the omelette. Allow to cook for another minute or so on medium heat.
Use the spatula to lift or just slide the omelette out of the pan and onto your plate. You should have a perfectly cooked, perfectly stuffed omelette of goodness. Serve and enjoy!
Now that you know how to make the perfect omelette I’d love to hear what you put in yours. Or, if you have a different method for making the perfect omelette I’d love to hear that too! Everyone is different and has their own preferences – what are yours?
