It’s been a rough few weeks. We’ve lost people, we’ve faced unexpected challenges and the amount of stress has been unimaginable. To remedy the situation, if only temporarily, we decided it was time for a girls day out. It was pretty impromptu so we didn’t do a lot of planning. Luckily we live in an area where there’s plenty to do.
The first thing we wound up doing was going to the store to get some necessary provisions. We came out with our bags which included sunblock, bug spray, and something we all share as a childhood favorite – Juicy Fruit!
Since it was such a beautiful day we thought going canoeing would be fun. Besides the mosquito’s it was a blast. We had a great guide who took us around while we searched for gators. We didn’t see more than a few snouts poke up then retreat back under the swampy water. I’m kind of sad and kind of relieved – I don’t know what we would have done if a gator came towards us!
We kept the day pretty simple – choosing to focus on the company of great friends instead of the problems surrounding us. We even realized that something as simple as a bubble blowing contest could make us forget all our troubles. I know it made me feel like a kid again!
Did you know Juicy Fruit has come out with bubble gum?! And it’s great bubble gum too, just look at Tess’s huge bubble; she won by the way. It’s sugar-free and as soon as you bite into it you get the burst of sweet fruity goodness delivered straight to your taste buds.
There is also new Juicy Fruit Fruity Chews which are oh so good. They come in 2 flavors, Juicy Fruit Original and Juicy Fruit Strawberry. Strawberry was a unanimous favorite for us and the bottle is so nifty – it makes sharing simple and no annoying crinkling noises.
We finished up our girls day with lunch and girl talk. It was a wonderful day and most importantly it worked. It let us enjoy life without our current burdens. We had a blast, made some new memories and relived some old ones. I just can’t wait to do it again!
Tell me: What is your perfect girls day out?
