Who has all day to prepare a meal besides Susie Homemaker, Carol Brady and June Cleaver? I sure don’t and I know most people don’t. That’s why I love coming up with quick fix dinner solutions like this Italian Sausage & Broccoli Alfredo. Another great thing about this dish is it’s budget friendly. The Alfredo sauce can be made with only a few ingredients.

Italian Sausage & Broccoli Alfredo Bake

Baking the finished product is optional, but I highly recommend it. It just brings the flavors together that much more. Yes, it’s a little extra work, but oh so worth it in my opinion.

So, when you want a super easy dinner, here is what you do.

  • 1 pound fettuccine
  • 1 pound sweet Italian Sausage, cases removed
  • 3 cups Alfredo Sauce
  • 1 bag chopped, frozen broccoli (or use fresh steamed broccoli)

Bring 5 cups of lightly salted water to a boil for the pasta. Cook to al dente. Put the broccoli in a strainer and run lukewarm water over until thawed. Drain well.

In the meantime, crumble and brown the Italian Sausage in a large pan.

Drain the sausage and set aside.

Once the pasta is done mix together with the Alfredo sauce.

Add the broccoli and sausage and mix thoroughly.

You can serve the dish from here, but if you want to add more flavor mix the ingredients in a casserole dish and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Top with Mozzarella and/or Parmesan.
