Who doesn’t love the satisfaction of making something yourself? Being able to say “Hey, I made that!” is a great feeling regardless of the outcome. I’ve taken great pride in food that was inedible just because I put a lot of work into it. I know Grace and I are going to be super proud when we get people to try the beer we’re making thanks to the Mr. Beer Brewing Kit we received to review.
I am not a beer drinker myself but everyone else I know is. Of course I’m going to try it, but I really don’t know what I’m looking/tasting for. That’s where the experts (i.e. my friends) will come in.
The Mr. Beer Home Brewing kit comes with everything you need to make * of beer. It even includes the bottles and labels and a cute little plastic keg.
We watched the instructional video and read the directions twice just to make sure we were doing everything right. We got started and loved how easy the whole process was. Heck, there was even a powdered solution for sterilizing everything. I’ll admit, that was a little tedious but totally necessary.
After the keg and utensils were sterilized we put the water (distilled) and hops in and topped with yeast. Screwed the lid on and that was it!
Well, we put it in a cooler to keep the temperature steady for the best possible results. I have yet to open that cooler just because I want to make sure it comes out perfect! The hardest part of this whole thing is the waiting time. It’s going to take another week before we get to bottle the beer. I guess that’s not too bad at all though!
I can’t wait to show y’all what’s going on with the beer once we bottle it. I really can’t wait for the brewing process to come to an end so the consumption process can begin (wink, wink.) Stay tuned for more on the Mr. Beer Home Brewing Kit and why not head over to grab one for yourself? It’s a fun project you can do at home and it would make a great gift for the beer aficionado in your life.
