What is Beauty?

What is Beauty to you?
To me beauty is the good people do. It’s taking the time out of your day to ask someone how they are doing; or holding the door open for a stranger behind you. To me beauty is kindness and caring and doing for others without expecting anything in return. As someone who has struggled with self esteem and my own self image I’ve learned to place more weight on what’s on the inside rather than the outside. I don’t judge people for what they look like, but rather for what they do in life. As for myself I still enjoy getting dolled up and prettified to feel better about myself. I don’t put on makeup to impress others, I do it because it makes me happy. My regular makeup routine is fairly simple. I use a corrective concealer to minimize the redness from my rosacea, then I use a full coverage foundation to even out my skintone. I add a little blush, some lip gloss and swipe on some eyeliner. Some days I’ll go all out and do shadow and mascara but it’s not that important to me. I keep my hair simple most days, unless I’m going out then I’ll try to do something with it.
I’m a simple girl.
With so much emphasis from main stream media on what you need to do to be beautiful it’s refreshing to see stars like Carrie Underwood keeping it simple. I’ve been a fan of hers since her American Idol debut and think she is extremely beautiful, both inside and out.
From founding the C.A.T.S. Foundation to supporting countless other foundations, Carrie Underwood is truly a beautiful person. She’s also the face of Almay! Check out the video to learn more about her thoughts on makeup and beauty.
So tell me, What is Beauty to you?
