UntitledUpdating your summer wardrobe can be a pain in the rear and the wallet. There are ways to dress for less this summer and still be stylish and adorable. Here are my best tips to help you save money without sacrificing fashion.

5 Tips to Dress for Less This Summer

Shop the Sales

Most retailers, online and in store, offer huge savings on clearance items.  You can call around to different stores to find out exactly when they’ll be marking down the goods.

Sites like Ebates will tell you what stores are having what sales. As a bonus you’ll get cash back for shopping online.

The main thing to consider when shopping sales is to not hesitate. Sure that sounds fiscally irresponsible, but when  you’re dealing with deep discounts on clothing you can’t guarantee they’ll be there later.

Find Discount Stores

There are some stores dedicated to saving you money on clothing and accessories. Finding them may not be easy, but once you do you’ll be in heaven.

599 Fashion offers beyond affordable clothing and accessories. Everything is priced at $5.99 or lower. They have the latest fashions and they’re constantly updating their collections. The only downside to 599 is their clothes are gone quickIf you wait too long to purchase you could find your dream outfit gone.

While these clothes may not be the highest quality they are definitely cute and fashionable. A great way to keep up with the latest trends without breaking the bank.

Shop Thrift Stores & Garage Sales

Macklemore has the right idea. Second hand items are a great way to save the green and usually give back to a good cause (in most cases.) Most items in thrift stores and garage sales are gently used. They may be last years trends, but with the right accessories anything can be salvaged.

There are times you’ll get super lucky and find brand new clothes for super cheap. The summer is the best time to go garage saling, and as a bonus you could get started on your fall/winter wardrobes early!

Repurpose Your Wardrobe

You can rarely go wrong with cut-offs. Instead of dropping $50+ on cut-offs/distressed shorts opt to DIY. You can make them as long or short as you want them and distressing jeans can be a lot of fun.

You can also turn long sleeves into tanks and other neat tricks to bring your out of season clothes to summer.

Swap with Friends

Do you ever find yourself wishing you had your friends wardrobe? Chances are they’re thinking the same thing. It’s a woman thing. We want what we don’t have. When we have it we don’t always want it.

If  you have friends that wear the same sizes as you propose a trade. Take this shirt I’ll give you these shorts. It’s a win-win situation and everyone leaves happy. This works with accessories too and no money is lost.
